About Our School
Welcome from the Head of School
It is a privilege for me to write to you as Head of School. I still get the same feeling every time I walk through the door of the school as I did when I first came for interview as Assistant Headteacher. Staff are passionate about what they do, and students are motivated and want to succeed.
Pakefield opened as a new school in September 2011 and has developed strong community links from the outset. With modern and bespoke facilities, students enjoy a fantastic experience in and out of the classroom.
My principle is to keep things simple and embed excellent practice. I encourage open communication with all stakeholders and am proud of the extensive accomplishments staff and students achieve on a daily basis. All staff have high expectations and support students to meet them and ensure they are ready to learn and prepared to take all opportunities available to them.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to ensure that every student has interesting and varied learning experiences and makes the best possible progress in developing their skills, knowledge and understanding. We seek to instil in our students a love of life-long learning, a strong sense of community service and a good understanding of society that will help them prepare for higher education and the world of work. We support our students to develop as well-rounded, mature and confident young adults ready to take up their place in society.
Ethos and Vision
Our aim is to be a centre of excellence for teaching and learning in which all students achieve the highest standards in their education, their personal development, and their behaviour and conduct. This is achieved through:
- a broad and rich curriculum that provides opportunity, challenge and support including a focus on developing strong skills in literacy and numeracy
- the extensive provision of extra-curricular and extended activities which develop individual interests and talents through academic, cultural, aesthetic, sporting, spiritual and ethical experiences
- high-quality pastoral support, care and guidance so that students are supported and guided so that they are able to reach their full potential and are prepared for their next stage in life as mature, responsible and thoughtful young adults.
