Teaching & Learning at Pakefield

Remote learning

Whilst the school building may be closed, teaching and learning remains very much open for business.

So that students and their parents know what to expect from us, we have published information about our remote education provision

Students are expected to log on to MS Teams for each of their lessons. The timings of the day for remote learning are a little different.

9:00 - 10:00

Period 1

10:00 - 11:00

Period 2

11:30 - 11:45

Coaching

11:45 – 12:45

Period 3

13:30 - 14:30

Period 4

Teachers will be delivering live lessons for all year groups, following the daily timetable of subjects.

It is really important that students access these lessons.

  • We want to avoid any chance of falling behind in learning
  • Our coaching sessions will be used to 'check in' with one another, ensuring we maintain checks on the welfare of all of our students
  • If students have completed work from their lessons, a menu of additional tasks they can choose from is available.

A guide to remote learning for students can be found here

What if I can't access remote learning?

We know that some students do not have access to a device at home. We are working with the DfE to ensure laptops are delivered as quickly as we can, and have delivered over 65 so far this term.

Students completing paper based work at home can return this to the school office for marking. Our standards team are also conducting weekly telephone welfare checks.
