The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) have decided that they need to put in place an Exam Contingency Day, should sustained national or local disruption arise during the summer 2019 exam period. This would then enable them to postpone and re-schedule any GCSE Exams. The chosen contingency date is Wednesday 26th June 2019. Students must therefore make themselves available up to and including the 26th June, should this situation arise.

Examination Information

At Pakefield, our pupils choose their options in year 8 ready to embark on their GCSE courses (or equivalent) in year 9.

Exams can be a very stressful time so it is important to be well prepared.  We have put together a short guide to exam procedures to help pupils during this time - all pupils taking exams this year will receive a copy.  This guide covers the "dos" and "don'ts" of the exam procedures, tells you what you may or may not bring into exams and expectations regarding behaviour.  FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION so it is important that all pupils are familiar with exam procedures beforehand.

We have also put together a handy Revision guide with hints and tips on how best to revise for exams.

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) also publish an information sheet for candidates - please click HERE to download the sheet for further guidance and advice.

In the event of an emergency, the school has a procedure for dealing with the safe evacuation of pupils whilst ensuring the exams process is adhered to.  These procedures can be viewed by clicking HERE.
